Product Description
3M Scotch-Weld Composite Surfacing and Lightning Protection Film AF 536 is a translucent-white modified epoxy film for general-purpose surfacing of composite structures. The drapeable, conformable film creates a smooth, void-free cured surface that can reduce preparation before painting. Repositionable room-temperature handling supports controlled layup, while blue polypropylene and paper liners protect opposite sides. AF 536 is available as surfacing-only film or with an integrated copper conductor, allowing the selected construction to combine surface finishing with lightning-strike protection during aerospace composite manufacturing.
Key features
- Smooth Composite Surface Finish: The cured film creates a glossy, void-free surface for reduced pre-paint preparation.
- Optional Lightning Protection Conductor: Selected AF 536 constructions integrate expanded or perforated copper foil.
- Drapeable Repositionable Layup: Conformable handling supports placement on composite tools and prepreg surfaces.
Applications
Composite aircraft surfacing and lightning-strike protection using the selected conductor or non-conductor construction.
